Dancing for you?

Our diary is filling up for this year so get in touch soon if you would like us to dance at an event or club.

What We Do
  • Dance Displays

Performing Dunsmuir Waltz at Swan Theatre Gardens during Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations,
    see Links.

  • Visit Foreign Groups

We enjoy visiting dance groups outside the UK. We have recently had exchanges with groups in Sweden, Switzerland, Austria and Germany.  In August 2011 we visited our friends on the Isle of Man and they visited us in May 2014. This was a busy year for us as we also visited  the Besse Group in Germany. Also in 2014, we visited Sunnerbogillet in Ljungby, Sweden – and they then visited us in 2015.

  • Host Foreign Groups

We host visits from our friends from abroad. Here are Folklore Gruppe Bludenz dancing outside Shakespeare's Birthplace.

  • We always dance to live music.

Our musicians play a range of instruments including fiddle, guitar, accordion, keyboard, mandolin, banjo, recorder and concertina.  Dances are introduced with information and humour.

Performing dances from around the British Isles, we
have entertained audiences in middle England and overseas
for over four decades.

On show we always wear costume and dance to live music.

Wayfarers Dancing in Malmo, Sweden 2018

We dance for a modest fee or for the opportunity to “pass the hat”.

Funds raised go towards hosting visits from folk dance groups from abroad.

Last year (2018) we visited Sweden for the 100th anniversary of the Malmo folk dance group and the year before we hosted a visit from a folk dance group from Besse in Germany.

We dance at many different venues including National Trust Houses, Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations, Festivals, Women's Institute meetings and Charity Events.

We can even host a whole evening of dance for you eg at a folk dance club, or a social event.
